Like many high school seniors, Carissa Pastore is eager to get on with her life.
But unlike most of her classmates at Central High School, she hasn't been thinking much about graduation lately. For Pastore, the greatest accomplishment is still being alive.
"I'm not proud of just doing schoolwork," Pastore said. "I'm proud of learning about my disease and trying to help myself."
