After many years of research, Nurse Caisse, along with interested doctors she knew, developed a version of the essiac formula that was to be injected into the patient. This treatment by injection turned out to yield more consistent results in the patients. (All of this information has been documented in a hand-written oath by Rene Caisse as well as signed papers by staff physicians.)
Rene Caisse attempted to get a permit from the Canadian Ministry of Health to allow health providers throughout Canada to inject the authentic essiac formula, but she was never successful in this attempt. Around this same time, Dr. Charles Brusch's older brother had heard about Caisse's work, and decided to research the information on his own. However, he was also unsuccessful in convincing the Canadian Government to officially recognize Rene’s essiac formula.
